Yes, the name implies all that it is: a sketch
comedy group that flourishes off of devising mini-
stories around the wicked, the odd, the far-
fetched and the obscure. Much like the
grandfather of sketch comedy shows, “Saturday
Night Live,” Pineapple Shaped Lamps produces
“TNL” with fresh concepts weekly.
The process to devise their 8-show season
remains intense & creative born of ideas that
scuttle through many stages of perfection. So far
the crew have put together 130 sketches in their

Since its inception one year ago, "TNL," which is
staged at Brown Coat Pub & Theatre and
performed and written by local troupe Pineapple-
Shaped Lamps, has produced more than 130
original sketches. Now, in celebration of
launching its third season in September,
Pineapple-Shaped Lamps presents "TNL:
Origins" at the Brown Coat on Friday and
Saturday. The two-night gathers the funniest,
strangest and most popular sketches from the
